Term 3Starts in May

Breaks of 3 to 4 weeks between terms, around Easter, Christmas and the long vacation. No midterm breaks, no summer school, and closed on public holidays.

Uniform

Our famous polka dots

Early Starters children wear polka-dot fabric in any colour, with dots about the size of a 10 pesewa coin.

  • Girls: a hip-yoke dress with pleats, or an A-line dress with puff sleeves and a Peter Pan collar.
  • Boys: a polka-dot shirt with shorts in a matching plain colour.
  • Fridays: the school's outdoor activity uniform, which we provide.

Children are expected to wear the school uniform every day.

FAQ

Questions parents often ask

Can't find your answer? Message us on WhatsApp on 050 835 6979 and we will be happy to help.

What is the child-to-staff ratio?
We keep our groups small so every child gets plenty of attention. On average there are about 10 children to each teacher for ages 3 to 5, and about 5 to each carer for our under-threes.
What ages do you welcome?
We welcome children from 6 months to 5 years, from our Hibiscus crèche right through to Dandelion (Kindergarten 1).
When can my child start?
Whenever suits your family. Admissions are open all year round, and we are always happy to talk about a start date that works for you.
How many terms are there?
Our school year has three terms, starting in September, January and May.
How long are the school breaks?
Each term is followed by a break of around three to four weeks, a lovely chance for families to rest and spend time together.
Do you have midterm breaks?
We stay open right through each term, so there is no need to arrange other childcare mid-term.
Do you run a summer school?
We don't run a summer programme at the moment, so the long vacation is time for family.
Are you open on public holidays?
We close on public holidays so children can enjoy the day with their families.
What are your opening hours?
We are open Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm. The office is open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
What if I am running late at pick-up time?
We kindly ask that children are collected by 5:00 pm. If you are held up, please give us a call so we can reassure your little one. A late fee applies for collections after 5:00 pm.
Do you provide lunch?
We ask families to pack their child's lunch each day, so children can enjoy food they know and love. We have a fridge to keep lunches fresh until mealtime.
Do the children use screens?
Very little. We use technology thoughtfully as one learning tool, but most of the day is spent playing, building, singing, gardening and exploring, in line with World Health Organization advice for under-fives.
